Azmat Mujtuba
Head of Rolling Mill
Azmat Mujtuba brings more than twenty-eight years of global experience in steel rolling operations, plant commissioning, and mechanical engineering to his role as Executive Director of Rolling Mills at Al Tilal Steel. His return to the company marks a full-circle moment in a distinguished career, having previously served under the company’s former name, Hill Metals. Today, he leads the rolling division with a renewed focus on modernization, expansion, and production excellence.
Mr. Mujtuba’s career has spanned high-impact leadership roles across Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Pakistan. Prior to rejoining Al Tilal Steel, he held senior positions at Naveena Steel, Sheikhoo Steel, and Agha Steel, where he directed the design, procurement, and commissioning of high capacity rolling mills, successfully implementing multi-slit, high-speed rebar production. His strategic oversight extended from equipment selection to operational launch, delivering projects with outputs up to 0.4 million tons per year.
His expertise includes deep operational leadership in rolling mill automation, CNC roll shop development, slit rolling technology, and the commissioning of advanced rebar mills. While at Hill Metals, Mr. Mujtuba played a critical role in operating and enhancing a 0.35 million TPY NCO-Italy mill. His earlier tenure contributed to building the foundation upon which Al Tilal’s current capabilities now stand.
He has also worked extensively with global plant suppliers including Danieli, CHSTE, VAI Pomini, and RH CNC, and has directed the implementation of advanced water systems, tungsten carbide roll technology, and CNC notching and logo marking systems. His work in preventive maintenance, cost reduction, and yield optimization has consistently driven performance improvements at every stage of the rolling process.
Mr. Mujtuba holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from NED University of Engineering and Technology and is a registered member of both the Pakistan Engineering Council and the Saudi Council of Engineers. He has completed professional training in Six Sigma, ISO systems, roll pass design, and material testing, with international exposure across Europe and Asia.
At Al Tilal Steel, he brings a powerful combination of institutional knowledge, global technical experience, and forward-looking leadership. His return reinforces the company’s strategic goal of becoming a leading name in advanced steel rolling technologies within the Kingdom and beyond.
