Ahtesham Ahmed Awan brings more than three decades of field engineering and site operations experience to Al Tilal Steel, with twenty-three of those years dedicated to the organization under its previous names Aziza Steel and Hill Metals. As one of the longest-serving team members, Mr. Awan has been part of Al Tilal’s transformation and growth from its earliest days, contributing to its physical development, infrastructure planning, and facility upgrades.
Trained as a Civil Associate Engineer, Mr. Awan has been instrumental in managing site-level construction, layout coordination, and civil maintenance across plant expansions, utilities, and operational zones. His understanding of the facility’s evolution gives him unique insight into both legacy structures and new project integration. Whether overseeing foundation work for new installations, coordinating contractor activities, or ensuring compliance with structural standards, his work supports the operational stability of Al Tilal’s production environment.
Prior to his time in Saudi Arabia, Mr. Awan worked with the Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC) in Taxila, Pakistan, as a Civil Associate Engineer, followed by five years with Anum Pvt Ltd and Youssef Zubair Co Ltd in Karachi. These experiences equipped him with a versatile skill set in industrial site development, utility routing, and multi-disciplinary coordination in high-demand environments.
Mr. Awan holds a Diploma of Associate Engineering in Civil from the Government Polytechnic Institute in Abbottabad, along with a Bachelor of Arts from Peshawar University. He is trilingual in Urdu, English, and Arabic and is known for his consistency, hands-on field expertise, and unwavering commitment to the long-term vision of the company.
