Ali Subhani is a results-driven engineering leader with over sixteen years of experience in electrical systems, automation, and instrumentation across steel manufacturing facilities in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. As Head of Electrical and Instrumentation at Al Tilal Steel, he leads the strategic development, implementation, and oversight of all electrical and automation infrastructure within the steel melting shop, including condition monitoring systems and energy optimization initiatives.

Since joining Al Tilal Steel in 2024, Mr. Subhani has been instrumental in modernizing the electrical architecture of the facility, implementing predictive maintenance systems, and overseeing safety-critical functions such as the Fume Extraction System. His role is central to ensuring operational uptime, energy efficiency, and system integrity across high-load environments.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Subhani served for over fifteen years at Peoples Steel Mills in Pakistan. Rising through the ranks from Assistant Manager to Manager of Electrical and Automation, he led operations across the bar rolling mill, sheet and plate rolling mill, radial forging machine, and press shop. He managed upgrades of automation systems based on Siemens PLCs, Wonderware HMIs, ABB DC drives, and CNC-controlled equipment. His responsibilities covered everything from preventative maintenance planning and system design to large-scale project execution and spare parts optimization.

As a project manager, Mr. Subhani has directed the successful erection and commissioning of several advanced electrical systems, including a 150,000-ton per annum SBQ bar rolling mill, a 5,000-amp ABB DC drive for a rolling mill motor, and numerous overhead cranes from global manufacturers such as KONE, DEMAG, VERLINDE, and MORRIS. His background also includes automation of radial forging machines, magnetic particle inspection systems, and seamless tube mill equipment.

He has represented his organizations internationally on technical visits and inspections in Turkey, Finland, and Italy, where he received specialized training in ABB automation systems, furnace transformers, and crane technologies.

Mr. Subhani holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore and a Master’s in Business Administration from PAF-KIET. His skill set spans electrical drives, power distribution, PLC integration, control systems, project commissioning, and energy management. He is fluent in English and has extensive hands-on experience with ERP systems and team development frameworks.
